Toll Drying

Baxenden offers a toll powder drying service using a 1200 litre capacity Mitchell's vacuum pan dryer which is designed to reduce the water levels in a feed stock down to levels below 0.1%.

The equipment is fitted with computer control of both temperature and vacuum, allowing consistently dry product to be produced at temperatures ranging up to 80° C and a vacuum down to approximately 30mBar.

The vacuum can be broken with nitrogen, to provide an inert atmosphere, so products with KSt values of up to 380 Bar.m/s can be handled.

Atmospheric releases from the plant are also controlled by means of a fume and dust scrubber.

Pilot Plant

Flame proof plant incorporating 200 litre and 400 litre stainless steel vessels, 400 litre glass lined vessel, 40 litre QVF glass reactor. Pilot scale thin film evaporator. Steam and oil heating up to 200°C. Pilot scale high shear mixer. Distillation and reflux capability.
