Polyurethane Dispersions

The Witcobond product range includes the following types:

• High solids (60%+)
• Low VOC
• NPEO/APEO-free
• NMP-free
• Blocked
• Anionic
• Nonionic
• Cationic
• UV-curing
• OH-terminated

They are used in glass fibre sizing, leather coatings, textile coating and finishing, plastic coatings, surface coatings and many other applications.  Further details are available on request.

Leather Coatings

Soft to medium Witcobond products are used in base coats to provide adhesion, handle, flexibility and other technical requirements for the full range of leathers used for apparel, shoes, upholstery, luggage etc.

Harder polyurethane dispersions are mainly for top coats where flexibility, abrasion resistance and rubfastness properties are essential.

Plastic coatings

Witcobond polyurethane dispersions are increasingly used for coatings on a wide range of plastic substrates, where they confer good adhesion, stain/chemical resistance and scratch/mar resistance.  Soft grades are compounded into aqueous formulations for “soft-touch” coatings on interior automotive components.
